The Return of Angst

I found this in an old notebook, I think it’s from 2011. It’s crudely composed but there are things I like about it.

Unable to retain blood
Triggering mother’s ignorance
Blame games won and lost
Losing only to age

Irony filtering through
And laughter fills the gaps
Watching but never noticing
Perhaps for the last time

Strike a pose in defiance
Insolently proclaiming sex
The spillages mount in their indifference
Hastening the inevitable rethink

Windows whisper for your attention
But all you see is their reflection
The pose has backfired
You finally disgust yourself

Outstretched arms – am I forgiven?
Feelings mingle and converge
See the price but only slightly
Distance keeps it for itself
